Its been a long time since I have updated. I apologize. I have been very busy.

My summer is over...but it might have been the best summer ever. As many of you know...I have been dating a guy. A wonderful guy. An amazing guy. He treats me like a queen. His name is Randy and I met him through our mutual friend Jessica. I teach with her and he went to school with her. We did have one complaint to Jessica...that it took her this long to introduce us! We have so much in common its actually kinda scary.

My summer consisted of me going to Wisconsin for a month. I went up to help my dad work festivals and stuff. It was hard to be without Randy...especially so early in our relationship. But it was good for us...realized what we really wanted. It was also real nice to hang out with my family. At the end of my time in Wisconsin Randy flew up. He got to meet the parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Kinda sent him through the ringer...but he held up well. He was there for 9 days and then we drove back to Georgia together. We had some time in Georgia when we got back to relax. And now it is time to go back to work. Ugh.

So there you go...a little update on my life. I will try to update more seeing that now I will have more of a schedule.

Lately I have been very discouraged towards my weight loss. I hadn't lost anything in over a month. I stepped on the scale this morning at curves and found out that I had lost 2 lbs since i last weighed myself. So the grand total so far is 26!!! So happy.

Also happy for other reasons...but I will talk about that in a later post. :)

that was a close one...

I was kinda worried when I went into Curves this morning to get weighed and measured. It had been a month since I had done it...and during that month was my spring break. Jenn came down and we had a blast. But we ate out every day and I didn't get to work out much. I had been weighing myself the whole week before I did the weigh in. And looking at the numbers I was scared that I was going to gain weight.

So I went in this morning not wanting to get on that scale. When I got on the scale to my surprise I had lost 1 pound. Not that great in a month...but all things considering. One thing that did make me happy though was that I had lost 3.5 inches.

So the total inches that I have lost is 14.25!

And the total lbs that I have lost is 24!!!

Getting closer to my goal!

Mar. 12th, 2008

sooo happy!

I had set a goal to lose 20 lbs before my parents got here. So that they could tell a difference. My parents get here today at 11. And I weighed myself this morning when I went to work out and sure enough....20 lbs!

I am so happy that I have decided to do this for myself.

Tonight is one of my lonely nights...

Wish that I had someone. It might just be the "Hope Floats" talking.

But seriously...I have been alone long enough. About 7 years to be exact. Don't good things come to those who wait?

I don't know...its probably just tonight. I will feel totally different tomorrow.

quick update.

After a week of not eating exactly how I should....(I went to Starkville to spend a week with my brother)...I still lost 2lbs. I have now lost a total of 16lbs. Only 4 more until the 20 mark. That is huge! :)

Feb. 14th, 2008

Good News!

I have now lost a total of 14 lbs! I was so excited when I got that info today.

I have gained a few inches...but it is all muscle. And I can really tell that my legs have more muscle in them.

In other news...I am heading to Mississippi tomorrow. Its the start of my mid winter break. So I am going to spend some time with my brother and watch his team play some b-ball.

Other than that...things are great.

There is my update.

Jan. 26th, 2008

I'm back!

Yeah...so...

I have been unmotivated to write anything on here. So I apologize! I don't think that I have a lot of readers anyways.

Just as of lately I have more to talk about...

First of all....the Packers. It was a great season. Never thought that they would get as far as they did. It was a great season and I am excited for next year. Hopefully Favre will decide to stay around a little longer.

Second...I am having a sleep study done tonight to test me for sleep apnea. Some of you know that I have a really bad snoring problem. So I getting that checked out. Who knows what will come of this. I am very nervous...not for the study...but nervous that I will not be able to fall asleep. *crosses fingers*

Third thing that I want to talk about...and something that I think that I am going to dedicate my journal to is losing weight. I decided to join Curves. Now you may think...Curves?...isn't it for old ladies or thats not really working out. My answer to that is...it is not just for old ladies. There are even two girls who are in high school who are members. And it really is a work out. I didnt join a real gym because I get bored. Also I have feet issues. They hurt if I do something for a long period of time.

I started curves on January 4th. And since then I have been going 6 days a week. It is close to the school that I work at so its very easy to go there after school. My friend Amy is my workout friend. She cant always join me but I go without her anyways. The other ladies that work out there are great. There are some great stories...and they are very supportive.

Now...what makes working out fun is seeing results. I am not ready to broadcast on here what my weight was when I started. But just give me a little bit. I think that will be a major milestone on my quest to lose weight.

At curves you weigh and measure yourself every month...but I started their diet on Tuesday so I have to weigh and measure myself more often. I tend to do it every day...just to help with the modivation.

I realized that I was not going to lose weight eating the way that I did. So I changed it. I wont go into the details of the diet but I am very happy with the results.

As for the results...the moment you have all be waiting for. :)

Since January 4th...I have lost 10 lbs. The diet really helped that. I have lost 5 of those 10 lbs since Tuesday.

I am really proud of myself for deciding to change my life. Heres to hoping that I keep seeing awesome results!

emotional

I am going to be honest with you...

I am a SAP! Many of you already know that though. I cry at the drop of a hat. Well....maybe not that bad. But when it comes to great sports stories....oh man.

I cried this morning when I was watching the Virginia Tech football game.

I cried this afternoon when Appalachian State beat Michigan.

And I cried one more time this evening when Clay Bucholtz (a rookie) threw a no-hitter for the Red Sox.

I dont know what it is but stories like that just get to me. I cant even make it through "Rudy" with out crying...and I have seen it a bunch of times.

Ok...crying again....they just showed highlights from the Red Sox game.

The bad thing about being a girl and a huge sports fan.

The Rules:
1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog (about their 8 things) and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

My 8 random facts...

1. I love thunderstorms and anything to do with weather! I prefer rainy days to sunny days because sunny days are too bright and they hurt my eyes. There is also there is tons of emotion that runs through my body during rain or a thunderstorm. Its really weird. Right this second its cloudy/rainy/thundering. And I am LOVING IT!!!

2. When anything huge happens in the world (9/11, Virginia Tech, bridge collapse) I cant stop watching Fox News. I need to know all the information as soon as it comes available.

3. I talk to my mom on the phone every day. Even if I have nothing to say....I still call.

4. I love football! I usually don't plan anything for Sundays because I love spending the whole day watching football. I especially don't plan anything during the Packers games...unless I have to. I have always believed that I will make some man very happy because of this love.

5. I am so jealous for the fact that I am not in Wisconsin this weekend for the DMB concerts at Alpine. This is the first time in 7 years that I have missed the Alpine concerts. But I get to see them in ATL in 2 weeks...so when that time comes I will have forgotten about Alpine.

6. I have mad stalking skills....in college I could find out anything about anyone. Since I have left college my stalking skills have kinda went down the drain...but they were superb back then!

7. I am going to my first "solo" concert next month. Meaning...that I am going alone. I dont know of anyone else who know how this person is, and I really really wanted to see her. So I am going solo!

8. I miss Marquette so much....when I think about it I get this aching sensation in my heart!

You NEED to read this...

So...Everyone who knows me knows that I love music. I love going to concerts, especially Dave Matthews Band. This has nothing to do with them but it is the next best thing!

It all started about a few months ago when I found out that Damien Rice was playing a concert on May 30th in Atlanta. Well...I was bummed...that is the
night before I'm making my 16 hour trek to Wisconsin for my summer vacation. So I was so sad that that concert was that night and to top it off...it sold out in a few hours. So no chance of seeing him this time around.

Then about a day ago I heard that my favorite local radio station was giving away tickets. Not to that concert but to another concert, that he is doing, they call The Circle of Friends. These concerts are small intimate performances of band/acts that are playing in the Atlanta area. Its in a club downtown ATL and there are around 50 people that end up winning the tickets to these "Special" concerts. This concert is Damien is around 4:30 which would be perfect if I won. I can still drive to Wisconsin and not have a concert hangover.

So yesterday I was listening to the radio and i heard be caller 20 and the Circle of friends tickets are yours. I called and I never got through. Sad...but then they said that they would give away another set of tickets later that evening. So I listened. 3 hours of listening to the radio and watching tv at the same time can give you a headache. I do not recommend it.

Anyways...i was listening and they said caller #20 again around 9ish.

So I called...

"Hello, you are caller #1"
DAMN

"Hello you are caller number 9"
DAMN

"Hello, you are caller number 17"
SO CLOSE

Then they just stopped answering so I knew that they had a winner. So sad again. I really wanted those tickets. So I though...maybe tomorrow I will try again. But I didnt want to listen to the radio all night again while trying to watch American Idol and LOST.

So...I get home from school today. Do the usual...come home watch The Young and the Restless. Then some Ellen. Then I thought to myself. Its around 6ish...they should be giving away some more tickets. Then, I thought....do I really want to make this commitment tonight again. I said...YES...its Damien Rice. So I turned the radio on. I was listening song after song went by...then...the little advertisement came on. I listened to it to make sure that they said that they were taking caller 20.

So I started calling.

Busy

Busy

Busy

Busy

Busy

Busy

Busy

Then he 8th time I call....
"Hello this is DaveFM who am I speaking to?"
HOLY SHIT...I think I just won...

"Congratulations you just won the Circle of Friends passes to see Damien Rice!"
NO WAY!!!!!!

"Yes way."

So yeah...I won tickets to an intimate performance, about 50ish people, with Damien Rice.

My second favorite band ever!!!

The cool thing is that my brother will be back in Mississippi by then so he is going to come over and go to the concert with me. He just saw Damien Rice in concert in Chicago. I was sooooo jealous. But I think that this makes up for it!!!

So that is my great news...I am sooo pumped!

Sorry this was soooo long but I just had to get it out. The excitement is just running through me.

May. 4th, 2007

ugh....

So....time to mark down my first broken bone. I woke up this morning and had a sharp pain in my big toe. Thought that I would just be able to walk it off. Turns out I was wrong. So went to the doctor today during school. It was easy to go today because it was field day and I didnt have any classes today. I had xrays taken of my foot and then got the bad news that I had fractured my big toe on my left foot.

I have no idea how it happened...I must have gone a little crazy last night in my sleep because nothing was wrong when I went to bed last night.

oh man it hurts.

p.s. This has nothing to do with why my feet hurt a few days ago. But in the Xray...they said that I had a previous break in my foot. And it was a long time ago when this break happened. It was in high school during softball. When they didnt think I broke my foot. But I actually did. Grrrr for stupid doctors.

Apr. 26th, 2007

my stupid feet...

I think that I have decided to use my insurance for the first time. I am finally going to get my feet checked out. I have had problems with them since high school. I cant walk more than 2 miles without the outside of my foot hurting. Its actually what keeps me from exercising regularly. Hopefully they can correct it with just shoe insoles. But if not it sure would suck to have surgery on them...especially with me living on the 3rd floor. Ugh...lets hope that it doesn't come to that.

Apr. 23rd, 2007

The icing on the cake...

So excited....tomorrow is my first school wide art show!!! There is this company that comes in a frames one piece of art from each kid in the school. All I had to do was produce the art work and they set up the show. They charge 29.91 for each piece. Sot it costs me nothing! Its actually a little fund raiser. I get somewhere from 10%-20%. I hope that I have a lot of parents buy their kids art. That means more money comes to me! :)

Thats all that I have for now...watch for pictures of my show to come soon.

Wow....2 months since my last update. Oops...oh well. You guys haven't missed much. I have about a month left of school. Very excited to finish up my first year teaching.

Tuesday night is my school wide art show. I'm very excited about that.

Thats about all I feel like writing right now.

:)

Oh....I get to go to Minneapolis for Chelsea's wedding the first weekend of June, and so is JENN!!!! Being away from that girl kills me.

Feb. 16th, 2007

Woo!!! I am now on vacation! I have a whole week off from school.

Tomorrow I have a wedding to go to and then I have to come home and pack because I am spending most of the week in Starkville with my brother. I will leave Sunday and come back Thursday. Wednesday is really the reason for me heading over there. My brothers team plays Vanderbilt and there is a Robert Randolph concert that night! YAY!

Then I will come home and my brother will basically be following me because they play at UGA on Saturday. UGA is about an hour from where I live. So I will get a chance to go and see his team play again.

That is what I will be up to in the coming week...Yay for not working!!!
